The DIA鈥檚 classic courtyard is drawing crowds to its newly furnished space, where groupings of leather couches and wingback chairs bring the majesty of the skylit room into humanized proportions without disturbing the grandeur. A small but well-chosen menu of charcuterie and cheese boards, herb-bedecked sandwiches, and salads 鈥 as well as an array of coffees, fruit drinks, beer, and wine, plus a full bar on Fridays 鈥 add to the appeal. The cultural living room also includes art books for browsing and Wi-Fi for laptops. People love the new approach, made possible by a grant from ArtPlace America.
