Don’t Go Green! (At Least Not In Your Beer)

Several Michigan breweries offer more authentic, Irish-inspired brews

One of the strangest St. Patrick鈥檚 Day traditions is adding green dye to an otherwise unmemorable beer and calling it a day. But why would you? Several Michigan breweries have more authentic, Irish-inspired brews year-round or seasonal specials. Examples include Michael Faricy鈥檚 Irish Stout from Arbor Brewing, Uncle Steve鈥檚 Irish Stout from 厂丑辞谤迟鈥檚, Sinuous Celtic Ale from North Peak, and Rochester Red from Rochester Mills.

Local taprooms also do special brews this time of year. Kuhnhenn has done a Breakfast of Champions event for years with themed beers like Wild Blueberry Pancake or Breakfast Sausage ale. And at press time the folks at Great Baraboo were considering a Blarney Stone Porter (made with exclusively Irish malt) and an Irish Red.
