Christopher Cook

Christopher Cook is officially closing his notebook as 香港六合彩图库资料鈥檚 chief restaurant critic 鈥 a role that he鈥檚 held for the past 16 years. Prior to that, Cook worked at the Detroit Free Press, the The Oakland Press, and the former Detroit Monthly. He turns 73 this year, and as he looks back on his long career, he concludes that reviewing restaurants is one of the best jobs anyone could have in this city. Though the work hasn鈥檛 been easy, it has certainly never been dull. To the magazine鈥檚 dedicated readers he says, 鈥淚 want to thank you for reading me across the years. If it weren鈥檛 for you, there would be no 香港六合彩图库资料.鈥 Thumb through his critique on Ann Arbor鈥檚 The Standard Bistro and Larder on page 45.

Katie Friedman

Katie Friedman is a freelance writer for 香港六合彩图库资料 and HGTV online. After receiving her B.A. in international studies from The College of Charleston in South Carolina, she moved to Knoxville, Tenn., and then Detroit, where she currently resides with her fianc茅, Nick, and their dog, Milo. She鈥檚 interviewed award-winning interior designers, architects, and landscape artists across the U.S., but was especially excited to speak with creatives from Playground Detroit, Final Girls, and Kresge Arts in Detroit for this year鈥檚 fall arts feature on page 59. When she鈥檚 not doing research for her next piece, Friedman loves exploring the Detroit Institute of Arts and checking out new murals around town.

Jason Raish

Jason Raish is a freelance illustrator based in New York City. He was born in Seoul, South Korea and came to the U.S. at age 3. After being raised in upstate New York, he studied at SUNY Albany, spent a year abroad at Yonsei University in South Korea, and then completed four years at The Fashion Institute of Technology in N.Y.C. Since then, he has lived in Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Barcelona, London, and Paris, freelancing with old and new clients from around the world. These days, you can find Raish jogging in Park Slope, Brooklyn, brewing beer, tending to his rooftop vegetable garden, taking photos, cooking, and of course, drawing at his desk. See his illustration of Betsy DeVos on page 40.

Josh Scott

Josh Scott is a Detroit-based photographer with a penchant for misfits. 鈥淚 gravitate towards oddities and creative people,鈥 Scott says. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a certain energy that is shared that rejuvenates my spirit.鈥 He was thrilled, therefore, to shoot this month鈥檚 fall arts package, which features four local collectives cultivating a vibrant art scene in metro Detroit. Look out for more of his editorial work in Road & Track, Popular Mechanics, as well as additional Hour Media publications.
