Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women, but the is working to change that with their annual Uncork for a Cure event, which is coming to the M1 Concourse in Pontiac on Nov. 4, 2023.
Known as 鈥淢etro Detroit鈥檚 premier breast cancer fundraiser and soiree,鈥 this 8th annual event raises funds for breast cancer research, education, and patient support.
This year鈥檚 event will feature a wide variety of world-class wines, which are hand-paired and curated by the 鈥渇irst woman of wine,鈥 Master Sommelier Madeline Triffon of Plum Market, alongside delicious food made by culinary talents from area restaurants including Mabel Gray, SheWolf, Takoi, Selden Standard, Oak & Reel, Marrow, and many others.
In addition to the food and wine, guests of this event will enjoy live music, live and silent auctions, and track rides hosted by Cauley Ferrari. Plus, live painting and the new Uncork gallery of artwork, which is curated by Mary Wysocki of Paragon Art Collective.
To date, Uncork for a Cure has raised over $2,000,000 to advance the fight against breast cancer, in particular Lobular breast cancer, only receives 1 percent of research funding despite accounting for 15 percent of all breast cancers.
Uncork for a Cure happens from 5-10 p.m. at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023. Cocktail attire is required. General admission is $375 and VIP admission is $500.
