The District Detroit Art Walk Series will debut its first event tomorrow. Curated by N鈥橬amdi Center for Contemporary Art, the new five-part event series 鈥 which is presented by Pepsi and will take place in downtown Detroit this summer and fall 鈥 will feature dozens of for-sale works by local artists.

From 5-9 p.m. tomorrow, attendees can stroll down Columbia Street between the Fox Theatre and Little Caesars Global Resource Center to view pieces by painter, illustrator, and muralist Nick Pizana; painter Ida Hawkins; free-hand drawer Leah Carroll; and more. Their art will be on display along Montcalm Street and in front of the Fox.

鈥溾he creativity and spirit that makes Detroit uniquely great will be on display, and we鈥檙e looking forward to providing a special place for Detroiters and Michiganders to gather on some beautiful summer and fall evenings,鈥 says Emily Neenan, chief marketing officer for the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, and The District Detroit, in a press release.

DJs will provide tunes for The District Detroit Art Walk Series. Meanwhile, local restaurant Frita Baditos will serve up Cuban-inspired street food, and guests 21 years of age and older can purchase Founders Brewing Co. beer and cocktails featuring Jack Daniel鈥檚 Tennessee Honey whiskey or Van Gogh Vodka.

Events will also be held on Aug. 6, Aug. 27, Sept. 10, and Oct. 1. There is no cost for admittance, and $5 parking 鈥 which can be reserved online 鈥 is available at the Fox Theatre Garage at 50 W. Montcalm St.
