Downtown Ann Arbor will be packed with artists showcasing and selling their work from July 20-23, 2023 as a part of the largest juried art fair in the nation.
Spanning 30 city blocks, the Ann Arbor Art Fair is a combination of three separate juried art fairs: the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, the Ann Arbor State Street Art Fair, and the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, The Original.
This year鈥檚 event will feature nearly 1,000 artists from across the globe will present an array of different works ranging from painting, jewelry, ceramic, glass, sculpture, mixed media, and more.听It also features a variety of activities, live entertainment, and food vendors.
鈥淚鈥檝e been with the Ann Arbor Art Fair for 18 years now and each year it just keeps getting bigger and better,鈥 Karen Delhey, the executive director of the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair said in a press release. 鈥淓very summer we take these three days in July to celebrate art and artists from across the country and invite everyone into the downtown to take it all in. I love every second of it.鈥
Among the new exhibitors for 2023 is artist Anusree Sattaluri, who created a collection called 鈥淥uter Peace,鈥 which includes paintings and ceramics inspired by 鈥渢he peace that can be found in the stillness and solitude.鈥 There will also be plenty of returning artists including jewelry-maker Patricio Ferreira and chalk artist David Zinn, who is bringing back the fan-favorite 鈥淐halk the Walk鈥 display.
Plus, tons of live art activities such as live glass blowing and ceramics demonstrations, live mural painting, The Art Activity Zone, which offers make-and-take crafts, the brand-new Special Art Activity District, where guests can help bring a mural to life by coloring it in with chalk, and much more.
There will also be live musical performances across three different stages.听 The performers include Natalie Mae, a New Orleans indie-folk singer; Tailen Toliver, a Detroit gospel-style singer; The Washtenaw Community College/Ypsilanti Youth Orchestra Jazz Ensemble; Deep Steam Band, the Shannon Lee Trio, and many others.
Meanwhile, there will be a wide variety of food vendors selling barbecue, tacos, Asian street food, shawarma, American, vegan eats, desserts, and more.
The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free. Several parking structures and lots in the area offer parking at $18 per day and $9 after 5 p.m. Shuttle services are available as well at Huron High School and Briarwood Mall that run every 10-15 minutes and are $8 per round trip.
